The Playworkers Forum is a two-day, residential playwork training event under canvas that gives playworkers the opportunity to learn from each other and experienced playwork trainers.
The Playworkers Forum 2018 visits a stunning new venue at the Willow Globe – a scaled down living version of the famous Globe Theatre in London. A nature trail and 40 acres of grounds will provide the backdrop in the heart of Powys just four miles from Rhayader.
Originally established in 2005 to provide a forum for adventure playground workers to share skills and practice, the Playworkers Forum has evolved to be a highly popular professional development opportunity for ?all playworkers in Wales and the rest of the UK, especially those working in open access provision. It aims to respond to the needs of the sector and participants.
Key themes for this year’s event include:
- Sustaining a playwork approach
- Examples of playwork in other settings
- Influencing others
- Practical playwork skills.
Who should attend?
- Volunteer, full or part-time playworkers
- After school club workers
- Playwork students
The event will run from 10.00am on 14 June to 3.30pm on 15 June 2017.
Participants are expected to camp and will need to provide their own camping equipment. Hot drinks, lunches, breakfast and an evening meal will be provided.
£110 per person
Planned and delivered by a steering group consisting of play development staff, academics, play specialists and adventure playground workers.
