Play Wales Treasurer

Play Wales is seeking to recruit a new Treasurer for the Trustee Board.

Play Wales is an independent charity funded by the Welsh Government and our area of charitable remit is Wales.

Playing is important to all children and to all our communities. For 15 years Play Wales has successfully campaigned and advocated for play, encouraged and supported the Welsh Government to make some internationally ground breaking commitments on behalf of children.

We work to raise awareness of children and young people’s right to play, providing advice and guidance to those who have a responsibility for children’s play so that Wales will be a play friendly place.

The Treasurer is responsible for supporting the Trustee Board to oversee the financial running of the charity in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements and ensure that effective measures, controls and procedures are in place for the charity.  As a member of the Trustee board you will be actively involved in strategic planning.

The position of Treasurer requires a moderate time commitment (circa 6 meetings a year) and is unsalaried although travelling expenses can be claimed.
