The Play Sufficiency Assessment Toolkit has been developed to provide support to all Local Authorities in fulfilling their duties, as set out in the Play Sufficiency Assessment (Wales) Regulations 2012.
The Order which brings into effect section 11(1) of the Children and Families (Wales) Measure 2010, which requires all Local Authorities to assess the sufficiency of play opportunities for children within its area commences on 1 November 2012 – that is, it comes into force.

The Pressures of Play – the second part of the Ribena Plus Play report – has found that only 33 per cent of ‘children engage in non-competitive play that risks bumps and bruises, such as climbing a tree’ – whereas 91 per cent ‘watch tv, films or DVDs’.
