Children’s Commissioner for Wales: annual report
The Children’s Commissioner for Wales, Sally Holland has published her office’s annual report for 2017 – 2018.
Among other achievements, the annual report shows that the Children’s Commissioner has presented new evidence of children’s experiences of play and leisure. The evidence was published in March 2018, in Article 31: Spotlight Report.
The spotlight report consulted over 450 children and young people about the way they play, how they spend their free time, and take part in activities in school and their local area. Findings show that lack of money, choice and access to transport are barriers to play in Wales.
The report findings are being used to inform how public bodies can help address the barriers facing many children and young people, to make sure that they have access to play and leisure time.
