IPA Declaration on the Importance of Play 24-07-2013

Back to News

The International Play Association (IPA) is working towards replacing the IPA Declaration of the Child’s Right to Play (Malta Declaration) that was written in 1977.

It was written in 1977 in preparation for the International Year of the Child (1979). Its content reflects interests from that time; research into the benefits and effects of play has been improved considerably since then.

IPA felt it was time to update the Declaration and has asked IPA EWNI to coordinate the work.

How you can help
IPA EWNI has prepared a first draft of a statement on the importance of play and is welcoming comments by email on the content.

Deadline for providing feedback: 31 August 2013
