Play Sufficiency Assessment Toolkit
The Play Sufficiency Assessment Toolkit has been developed to provide support to all Local Authorities in fulfilling their duties, as set out in the Play Sufficiency Assessment (Wales) Regulations 2012.
The development of the toolkit was approved by the Deputy Minister for Children and Social Services, one of the Welsh Ministers, as a means of supporting the implementation of this duty. The toolkit was prepared by Play Wales and the Welsh Government in conjunction with play providers across Wales.
The toolkit should be used with reference to the Play Sufficiency Assessment (Wales) Regulations 2012 and associated Statutory Guidance. These set out the details of the assessment that each Local Authority needs to undertake, following the commencement of Sections 11(1), 11(2), 11(5) and 11(6) of the Children and Families (Wales) Measure (2010).
At present only the English version of the toolkit is available, but the Welsh version will be available soon. At this time both versions will be placed on the Welsh Government website.
Part 2 of the toolkit (which includes the Play Sufficiency Assessment Proforma and the Play Sufficiency Action Plan Proforma) is also available to download in Word format.
