The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) has published its first report on the State of Child Health in the UK.
The report provides an insight into the state of child health in the UK. A separate document Recommendations for Wales has been published alongside the main report. The 39 recommendations for improving children and young people’s health and well-being in Wales include:
- The Welsh Government should pass the Public Health (Wales) Bill and extend bans on smoking in public places to school grounds, playgrounds and NHS grounds
- Local authorities should carry out a public health impact assessment in all planning decisions and introduce 20 mph speed limits in built up areas, to create safe places for children to walk, cycle and play.
