CRB changes08-01-2013Back to News
On 1 December 2012 the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) merged with the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) to form the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
The DBS check replaces the CRB check that is required for some paid workers and volunteers that work with children and vulnerable adults.
The DBS charges £44 for a check for paid workers and checks for volunteers are free of charge.
The DBS has published new guidance to help applicants complete the application form. It explains how the form should be completed correctly, which should minimise errors to prevent forms being returned.
