Resilient Communities: a third sector perspective

In February 2017, Welsh Government announced that it will be developing a Resilient Communities programme, to begin in April 2018. The programme will have three elements – early years, employment and empowerment.

The Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) is working with its members and a range of partners to develop proposals on developing more resilient communities. Within this, WCVA is particularly interested in what needs to happen to achieve more empowered communities.

WCVA is hosting discussion sessions online and face to face over the summer and in September. These will be opportunities to share and discuss different ideas from across and beyond the sector.

You can also join the Twitter chat on Tuesday, 12 September, 12.30 – 1.30pm. If you've got anything you'd like to say or questions you'd like to ask, join using the hashtag #ResilientCommunities.

Play Wales is currently drafting its response to this discussion.

Coming soon – a resilient communities podcast featuring our Assistant Director, Marianne Mannello and Conwy’s Principal Play Officer, Millie Boswell.
