Play Wales’ response to physical activity inquiry 04-09-2017Back to News
The National Assembly for Wales’ Health, Social Care and Sport Committee is conducting an inquiry into the physical activity of children and young people.
The Committee says:
‘Physical inactivity is considered to be the fourth leading risk factor for mortality. The Welsh Government has previously estimated the cost of physical inactivity to Wales as being £650 million per year. We know that active children are more likely to become active adults and we also know the importance of physical activity in tackling obesity.’
Play Wales has submitted a written response to the inquiry. You may wish to use our response to inform your own response.
National Assembly for Wales’ inquiry deadline: 15 September 2017
