Outdoor Classroom Day

Upcoming dates – 7 September 2017, 12 October 2017 and 17 May 2018.

So that countries can participate on a day that suits their climate and fits with their school terms, the global campaign has multiple dates.

Outdoor Classroom Day is a global campaign to celebrate and inspire outdoor learning and play. On the day, thousands of schools around the world take lessons outdoors and prioritise playtime.

Schools are pledging to spend at least one lesson in the day outside and Play Wales is encouraging schools to commit the day to play.

Here are our top tips for a playful Outdoor Classroom Day!

Outdoor learning improves children’s health, engages them with learning and leads to a greater connection with nature. Play not only teaches critical life skills such as resilience, teamwork and creativity, but is central to children’s enjoyment of childhood.
