The Play Cycle: 20 years on

In 1998, Gordon Sturrock and Perry Else Introduced the Play Cycle in ‘The playground as therapeutic space: playwork as healing’ paper at the International Play Association (IPA) Conference in Colorado, Canada.

A study is now being conducted by Swansea University to understand the effect of the Play Cycle on playwork theory in the last 20 years. Terms from the paper are frequently used within the playwork sector and they appear in training, education and textbooks. This study aims to measure the impact of the Play Cycle within the playwork sector over the last 20 years.

To contribute to the study please complete the online questionnaire.

To take part, you must be 18 years or over and currently working in the playwork sector. The online questionnaire is open until 1 December 2017.
