Welsh Youth Parliament voter registration now open


To be eligible to vote in the first ever Welsh Youth Parliament election young people aged between 11 and 18 will need to register. Registration is online and will take about five minutes to complete. 

The new Welsh Youth Parliament will give young people in Wales the opportunity to identify and raise awareness of what matters to them. The election will take place in November 2018.

Announcing the news, Elin Jones AM, Llywydd (Presiding Officer) of the National Assembly for Wales said:

‘I am calling on everyone in Wales from age 11 up to 18 to register to vote, to use their voice and to help make the changes to improve their lives through a democratic forum which is here specifically to represent their needs’

Voter registration deadline: 18 November 2018

Potential candidates can register their interest to stand as a Member of the Welsh Youth Parliament from 3 September 2018.
