Policy, support and advocacy
Play Wales works towards and advocates for every community and neighbourhood supporting a range of quality inclusive play opportunities so that all children and young people in Wales have a choice of places to socialise and play in their free time.
Through our policy and advocacy work, we aim to ensure that children and young people in Wales have the space and opportunity to play as part of their daily lives, at school and other services, at home, and throughout the public realm.
This means everything from play-friendly streets to staffed adventure playgrounds, play schemes, local play areas, schools, childcare, hospitals and hospices.
We do this by:
- promoting local play strategies
- supporting regional partnerships for play
- raising awareness and promoting quality
- promoting equality and diversity in play provision.
