Playday – best play ideas and games

Image for Playday – best play ideas and games

To help celebrate this year’s Playday, the Children’s Commissioner for Wales, Sally Holland and Play Wales are working together to create an e-book of children’s best play ideas and games. It will be full of ideas and pictures from children across Wales.

Playday is the annual day for play in the UK, so we are celebrating by sharing children’s own ideas about how they enjoy their right to play. It’s also a great way of sharing games to inspire more children and their families to play on Playday and every day.

The e-book will be launched on Playday – Wednesday 5 August 2020.

Get involved
To make the e-book we need your help.

To gather the play ideas, we have put together a short form for children to tell us about their favourite game and how it’s played. Children wanting to take part can choose to write or draw on the form.

The form is available to download and print. If you work with children and families, please share with your networks and the children in your setting. Or if your setting is putting together play packs for distributing to children in your community, this would make a great activity.

Or children can write/draw their answers on a blank sheet of paper.

Once completed, please scan or take photos of the forms / sheets of paper and return via email by 31 July 2020.
