Second call for papers: Play 2021 conference
Playful Planet and the University of Birmingham’s Children and Childhood Network have announced a second call for papers for the Play 2021 conference, which will be held at Birmingham University and online on 7 and 8 July 2021.
The organisers are inviting those intending to attend the event to submit proposals for presentations, workshops or poster displays. Submissions may be from a local, city-wide, regional, national or international perspective and may address historical or contemporary data. Proposals should be between 250 and 500 words.
All submissions should address children’s play and focus on one or more of the following themes:
- Play and learning
- Play, planning and the built environment
- Play in the early years.
In addition, submissions are invited to consider either of two crosscutting themes:
- Children’s play and the pandemic
- Children’s play and inequality.
Confirmed speakers for the event include Tim Gill (Rethinking Childhood), Alison Stenning (Newcastle University), Adrian Voce (Playful Planet) and Matluba Khan (Cardiff University). The conference will be co-chaired by Peter Kraftl (Birmingham University) and Andrea Davis (Birmingham University’s Children and Childhood Network).
Closing for submitting papers: 30 April 2021
