To coincide with the United Nations Universal Children’s Day we are publishing our latest information sheet – What is play and why is it important?
The information sheet aims to answer two questions: what is play? And why is play important? The information sheet endeavours to draw together the most widely respected statements on play to provide a comprehensive analysis.
Universal Children’s Day, which takes place on 20 November every year, marks the date the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959 and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in 1989. This year we are celebrating 25 years of the UNCRC!
