• Right to play workshop

To raise children’s awareness of their right to play, Play Wales has developed a Right to Play workshop pack. It includes a workshop plan, materials and resources to support the local promotion, participation and advocacy of the Right to Play.

    Who is it for?
The workshop is designed for playworkers, participation workers, youth workers and school staff to facilitate in schools and other structured settings.

The resources have been designed for use in schools – the pack contains activities for facilitator led workshops and for use by the school following the workshop.

What it is designed to do?
The Right to Play workshop is designed to empower children and young people to better advocate for better opportunities for playing and meeting up with their friends.

    How has it been developed?
Play Wales, worked with the Community Foundation in Wales, the Fair Share Panel and Isle of Anglesey County Council, to develop the Right to Play workshop.

The Right to Play workshop was piloted in five schools across Anglesey as a trial project. The pilot workshops were funded through the Big Lottery Fair Share Programme on Anglesey.
